Inhaled therapy is a mainstay of treatment for a wide variety of respiratory diseases in children. Disease management guidelines recommend inhaled corticosteroids and bronchodilators for controlling asthma, and mucoactive agents and antibiotics for treatment of lung disease in cystic fibrosis (CF).1,2  There is also interest in using aerosols for systemic delivery of molecules that would otherwise be degraded in the gut or require injection.
