Most in-home injuries can be prevented, according to a recent article in PARADE magazine which includes comments from Joseph Greensher, M.D., FAAP.

In the article, Dr. Greensher, chairman of the AAP Committee on Accident and Poison Prevention, says that the word "accident" should be banned from our vocabulary.

"My dictionary defines an accident as something that happens by chance or without intention," Dr. Greensher said. "Most injuries, particularly at home, have causes within our control."
