Marianne Neifert, M.D., FAAP, commonly known as "Dr. Mom," told 1994 AAP Spring Session "Family Program and Brunch" attendees that a family is "a child's original source of unconditional love and acceptance."

"When the family is strong, that strength ripples throughout society," Dr. Neifert said. "The erosion of the family unit heralds the decline of society."

The brunch was made possible by the National Live Stock and Meat Board on behalf of the Beef Board.
