Physicians are invited to attend the AAP continuing medical education (CME) course, "7th Annual Pediatrics in Progress," Oct. 7 to Oct. 9, in San Francisco.

After completing the course, physicians should be better able to: summarize new information on the etiology of peptic ulcer disease and plan appropriate therapeutic interventions; recognize how asthma guidelines can be integrated into pediatric practice; identify causes of, and diagnose and manage chronic pain syndromes; review risks and benefits in treating occult bacteremia; recognize early signs of depression and make appropriate mental-health referrals; take an active role in evaluating and treating the suicidal adolescent; assess severity of eye traumas and differentiate traumatic injuries that require urgent or emergency referral; and treat minor ocular trauma.
