ABC-TV will air a one-hour news special, April 20, focusing on issues affecting children, their parents and their communities.

At press time, the working title of the program was "Putting Children First: How to Save Our Future." ABC news anchor Peter Jennings will host.

The special stems from the "Children First" public-service campaign that Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., in partnership with the Coalition for America's Children (CAC), started last year and renewed in 1995.

The 150 ABC affiliates participating in the campaign receive public-service announcements, print materials and programs that allow them to produce local, action-oriented programs.
