Fiscal year 1996 budget resolutions are nonbinding spending blueprints, but they indicate legislators' intentions to target the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) for cuts or elimination.

AHCPR supports research and information dissemination on health-care services and technology, medical effectiveness and patient outcomes.
