The U.S. infant mortality rate is at an all-time low, according to a recently published Pediatrics annual report.

However, racial differences in the infant mortality are "remain a major national concern," according to researchers.

The AAP journal's "Annual Summary of Vital Statistics — 1994," published in the December 1995 issue, compiles and analyzes statistics from various sources, including the National Center for Health Statistics.
