Displayed prominently in the office of Alberto Gedissman, M.D., FAAP, is a poster of a baby innocently playing with a gun, a contrast horrifying enough to provoke comments from both patients and parents.

"This poster got the children talking and got the adults talking," Dr. Gedissman said, and this is exactly what he wants, particularly when the talk focuses on how to fight the violence epidemic that's killing and crippling America's youth.

"One of my patients was really offended (by the poster), claiming that I was not being fair to other groups," Dr. Gedissman explained. "My answer to him was that guns are causing tremendous injuries in our children."
