While many studies have been conducted on physician reimbursement and service utilization, little research has focused specifically on trends in pediatric care. In response to the concerns of pediatricians around the country, the AAP designed a survey to assess utilization and average charge patterns in pediatrics.

Titled "Utilization and Charges for Pediatric Services in 1995," the survey asked pediatricians to record the number of times they used CPT codes (10060-99440) during 1995 and to record the fee charged for each service. Results reflect 1995 utilization of services and were compiled for both regional and national comparison.
