Pediatric Research in Office Settings (PROS), the Academy's practice-based research network, has won the 1998 Pew Primary Care Achievement Award for Research. The award, given to individuals and/or organizations, is bestowed by the Pew Health Professions Commission in recognition of excellence in advancing primary care in the United States.
PROS Director R. "Mort" Wasserman, M.D., FAAP, accepted the award on behalf of the network in a Sept. 24 ceremony in Baltimore, saying, "This award belongs in large measure to hundreds of pediatric practitioners and their office staffs who have contributed their time and energy to furthering our knowledge about child health care."
