There is no benefit to adding spinal manipulation to the medical care of children with mild or moderate asthma, according to a study by Canadian and U.S. chiropractors and physicians.

Subjects recruited to the randomized, controlled trial were 91 children, ages 7 years to 16 years, diagnosed for more than a year with asthma and using a bronchodilator at least three times a week. After histories were completed by patients and parents, spirometry was performed before and after each subject inhaled 200 µg of salbutamol.
