Solomon Rajkumar, M.D., FAAP, of New York, died July 8 from lung cancer. He was 64.

Dr. Rajkumar came to the United States in 1964, after graduating from Stanley Medical College in Vellore, India. After a residency in pediatrics, he joined the pediatric outpatient department of Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York. He was a clinical associate professor of pediatrics at the State University of New York, Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Dr. Rajkumar was director of the pediatric clinic, the pediatric nurse practitioner program and the pediatric ambulatory fellowship program. He established the lead clinic and the attention deficit disorder clinic.

Dr. Rajkumar, a founding member of the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, also was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.
