A reality-based TV program that uses short vignettes to encourage healthy family dialogue can be seen at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sundays on WAM! America’s Kidz Network, a commercial-free cable channel targeted to 8- to 16-year-olds.

“Table Talk: Real Families Face Real Issues,” which debuted on Thanksgiving, highlights actual families during real family dinners. Issues such as curfews, favoritism, respect, dating and safety are introduced and negotiated.

The programs, sponsored by the Anna and John J. Sie Foundation, also are being offered at no charge to other cable and satellite stations, along with community groups and health agencies.

The Academy, which reviewed the programs, “encourages healthy family dialogues like those in ‘Table Talk’.”
