Catastrophic care: Chafee proposal introduced
Sen. John Chafee (R-R.I.) was scheduled to announce the introduction of the Care Management and Catastrophic Health Care for Children Act of 1987 at a news conference on July 23.
The proposed legislation seeks to provide protection against the high medical costs faced by 3.8 million U.S. families with newborns and infants, according to the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI), which supports the legislation.
