Recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to international child health.
Mark W. Kline, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Kline is chair of Baylor College of Medicine’s pediatrics department, physician-in-chief of Texas Children’s Hospital and president of the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative. He is former chair of the AAP Committee on Pediatric AIDS. A fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Dr. Kline also is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research and the American Pediatric Society. He is active in the education and training of medical students, residents and postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Kline is the author of numerous papers, and he has given more than 300 presentations on pediatric infectious diseases. His lecture relates to children and poverty.
