Carol Carraccio, M.D., FAAP, of Baltimore, was named director of Competency-Based Assessment Programs at the American Board of Pediatrics, effective July 1. She will design and develop competency-based assessment programs and work toward collaboration with other organizations and integration of programs at undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate/practitioner levels.
Dr. Carraccio is professor of pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is a member of the AAP Section on Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
David Chadwick, M.D., FAAP, of La Mesa, Calif., received the Scientific Achievement Award from the American Medical Association (AMA) for outstanding service to the medical profession.
