Original science, award presentations, remarks from AAP leaders and the Silverman Lecture will be among the highlights of the AAP Presidential Plenary from 12:30- 4 p.m. May 1 at the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) and Asian Society for Pediatric Research (ASPR) meeting in Denver.

The PAS annual meeting takes place April 30-May 3 at the Colorado Convention Center.

AAP CEO/Executive Director Errol R. Alden, M.D., FAAP, will chair the AAP plenary. AAP President O. Marion Burton, M.D., FAAP, is set to speak at 1:20 p.m.

Research topics and presentations scheduled for the afternoon include:

Lois E.H. Smith, M.D., Ph.D., has been selected to deliver the annual William A. Silverman Lecture at 3:15 p.m. Dr. Smith, professor and associate of ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and Children’s Hospital Boston, will speak on “Retinopathy of Prematurity: Understanding Angiogenesis Through the Eyes of a Child.”
