Diego Chaves-Gnecco, M.D., M.P.H., Candidate Fellow, of Wexford, Pa., received the Breastfeeding Advocacy Award from the Allegheny County Health Department.
Assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and developmental-behavioral pediatrician at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Dr. Chaves-Gnecco is founder and director of the Salud Para Ninos, the region’s first bilingual and bicultural pediatric primary care program that promotes health literacy and prevention in the Hispanic/Latino community.
He is 2004 recipient of the AAP Anne Dyson Child Advocacy Award.
