H. William Fink, M.D., FAAP, of Norfolk, Va., who practiced for over half a century and twice served as AAP Virginia Chapter president, died June 13 at age 95.
Dr. Fink began 55 years of practice in a room behind the soda counter of a Norfolk drugstore in 1946. The practice grew to three offices adjacent to three hospitals and later included two of his sons, Robert Fink, M.D., FAAP, and Fredric Fink, M.D., FAAP.
Dr. Fink served as Virginia Chapter president in 1964-’65 and 1975-’79. He received the 1995 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Virginia State Pediatric Society/Virginia Chapter. He also was president of the Tidewater Pediatric Society and the Norfolk Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Fink helped establish the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters 50 years ago and was honored for contributions to the hospital in 1996 with the James W. Hayes Faculty Teaching Award. He was...
