Sadly, this will be my last letter as my term of office as AAP president concludes at the end of this month.

It has been a truly wonderful 14 months since my inauguration in October 2012. The time has flown by with many meetings in the United States and 11 overseas, all of which have confirmed my feeling that the AAP is the most highly regarded medical professional organization in the world.

The dedication and hard work of thousands of our members are unparalleled as they provide their expertise to advocate for children and write textbooks, policy statements, guidelines, and other professional and parent publications. Our equally dedicated and hardworking staff are competent in assisting us in our endeavors to improve children’s health.
