Lori Frasier, M.D., FAAP, of Salt Lake City, was named chief of the new Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and professor of pediatrics at Penn State Hershey. She also serves as clinical director of the Center for the Protection of Children, one of four centers at Penn State to develop research, clinical, and educational initiatives around child maltreatment issues.
Dr. Frasier was appointed to the first subboard in child abuse pediatrics at the American Board of Pediatrics and is the subboard chair for child abuse pediatrics. She is immediate past member of the board of directors of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.
A member of the AAP Section on Child Abuse and Neglect and past chair of the section’s executive committee, she has worked abroad to help educate physicians and others on child abuse prevention and treatment.
