Energizing. Effective. Impactful. These are just a few adjectives pediatricians have used to describe AAP Education in Quality Improvement for Pediatric Practice (EQIPP) online courses that help identify and close practice gaps.

EQIPP courses are simple, straightforward and easy to implement, said Nathan A. Wilson, M.D., FAAP. “Not only have we implemented proposed changes,” he said, “we now have a model to take on other desired changes.”

Last summer, EQIPP courses became a benefit of AAP membership. The move reflected the Academy’s commitment to the health of children and ensures members have access to tools that help them achieve continuous quality improvement (QI). The courses also help satisfy Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part 4 requirements.

Soheir Girgis, M.D., FAAP, said the EQIPP course on newborn screening improved her understanding of screens, documentation and follow-up on both dried blood spots and newborn screening, minimizing any missed opportunities.
