We are a group of volunteers who decided to get organized and to be of service to the profession, children, families and society. By the very nature of our work, we embrace the notion that serving is a privilege. I view the AAP as a service organization. As such, we must ask what are the priorities and why.
There are three areas prioritized by the AAP:
Pediatricians are in the middle of a battle to maintain their practice when at the same time they are being challenged by an ever-increasing regulatory environment and the rigors of Maintenance of Certification. The value to individual members must be oriented to serve in the realities of their practice environments and schedules.
