Lawn darts banned
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is banning sales of some lawn darts that present "an unreasonable risk of death or injury," CPSC spokes-woman Anne Pavlich notes.
Three children younger than age 14 years have died in dart accidents, Pavlich said. About 670 lawn dart injuries are treated in U.S. hospitals each year.
Only those lawn darts capable of causing skull-penetrating injuries are affected by the ban.
