AAP calls for alcohol warning labels

In a recent public hearing before a congressional subcommittee, an AAP official strongly urged the government to mandate a series of rotating warning labels on alcoholic beverages as part of a more comprehensive plan to steer pregnant women and teenagers away from alcohol abuse.

Kenneth Jones, M.D., professor of pediatrics at the University of California—San Diego, testified on behalf of the Academy that such important consumer information is vital if the United States is serious about safeguarding children.
