Most physicians do not know the extent of the medical problems that homeless children face, said Stanley Levine, M.D., FAAP, who will moderate a Section scientific meeting on homelessness at the 1988 AAP Annual Meeting.

"I've contacted people across the country for their ideas on how to address the children's medical and emotional needs," Dr. Levine said. "I am convinced that the average pediatrician, physician, or any other person for that matter, does not understand the scope of the problem."
