An informational kit developed by the American Lung Association (ALA) can help pediatricians and other health professionals counsel new parents on creating smoke-free environments for their children.

The kit includes a separate informational packet for parents to take home and was developed as part of the new ALA "A Healthy Beginning" program. All materials contained in the kit were reviewed by AAP officials and bear the Academy seal. They will be used to supplement materials already available under the AAP "Tobacco Free Generation" program.
