Vaccine brochures: AAP proposes changes

AAP Fellows provided a thorough evaluation of new immunization patient information materials at a recent public hearing held by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta.

The new federal brochures are being developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services(HHS) to fulfill a requirement of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Act of 1987 stipulating that written information on vaccines, developed by the HHS, be given to parents prior to their children's immunizations.
