I was intrigued to read the article in the October 1989 AAP News about Dr. Michael Ruhlen of Lima, Ohio.

I applaud his decision to change his practice based on the needs of his community. I must, however, comment on his statements regarding his "old" practice.

I don't doubt that Dr. Ruhlen was "bored" with seeing 60 patients a day and answering phone calls at night regarding "earaches, not real emergencies." It's wonderful that he found fulfillment in his new role.
