A new AAP - private industry fund-raising partnership is expected to raise money for child health projects while increasing communication among physicians and corporate America.

The program, called "The Friends of Children Fund," kicked off with a day-long educational program lead by AAP officials and 19 representatives from corporations. The program achieved its objective, AAP Executive Director, James Strain, M.D., said.

"We wanted to sit down with business and tell them what the Academy is doing and how corporations can help," Dr. Strain said. "It was an excellent meeting, the companies seemed to be very interested in the Academy and what it's doing."
