U.S. health and education leaders have developed a four-point plan to address the physical, emotional and social ills of today's youth, including unwanted pregnancy, suicide, drug abuse, poverty, gang violence and sexually transmitted diseases.

The 36-member panel consisted of representatives from the AMA and the National Association of State Boards of Education. Their recommendations are contained in the report, "Code Blue: Uniting for Healthier Youth."
