A new AAP task force has met for the first time to begin developing new health supervision strategies for practicing pediatricians.

The panel's work could lead to changes in the AAP recommended schedule of preventive health visits (see page 16), which is used by pediatricians, many state Medicaid programs and other child health care providers.

The schedule underwent one major modification in 1981, increasing visits, since it was first adopted in the late 1970s.
