Every child must have a "medical home" if health care is to be effective, rural Nebraska pediatrician Thomas Tonniges, M.D., FAAP, told first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and others at a March 15 health care forum near Des Moines, Iowa.

In his three-minute testimony before the "Conversations on Health" forum, Dr. Tonniges chose to address immunizations, family and government involvement in health care, and what he views as detrimental federal regulations.

Dr. Tonniges, a member of the AAP Board of Directors, spoke on his own behalf, as a general pediatrician in private practice.
