Pediatrician and political activist Gerold Schiebler, M.D., FAAP, received the 1993 Abraham Jacobi Award during the AAP Spring Session for his ongoing work in the Florida state legislature and nationally.

Dr. Schiebler is a professor of pediatrics and vice president of Health Affairs at the University of Florida, Gainesville. The award is named for a turn of the century pediatrician who is widely recognized as the father of American pediatrics.
