A Laredo, Texas pediatrician will receive $10,000 in planning funds from Community Access to Child Health (CATCH). These funds will help Pedro Castaneda, Jr., M.D., FAAP and other local child advocates assess how to best help impoverished local families living in the impoverished "Colonias" of Webb County, Texas.
CATCH is part of the AAP initiative to guarantee access to appropriate health care for all U.S. children and pregnant women.
Dr. Castaneda and his wife, Lupita, operate a private practice. He also works with Mercy Hospital and Gateway Health Center in Laredo.
