The Ambulatory Pediatric Association (APA) recently voiced its support for bans on handguns and for other AAP positions regarding firearms.

APA President Modena Wilson, M.D., FAAP, said that the APA concurs with the Academy's policy statements: "Firearm Injuries Affecting the Pediatric Population," written by the Committee on Injury and Poison Prevention, and the statement written by the Committee on Adolescence, "Firearms and Adolescents."
