The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.
Product: Firestreet scooters
Units: 185,000
Importer/distributor: Target, of Minneapolis
Manufacturer: Triple Win Sports, of Taiwan
Hazard: The handlebars, wheels and wheel brakes can break and detach, causing the rider to lose control and fall.
Description: The F Forward Firestreet scooters are red or blue aluminum with a fold-down frame and model number BZ 020 SP.
Sold at: Target stores nationwide from February 2004 through July 2006 for about $24.
Remedy: Consumers should take the scooters away from children and return the scooter to a Target store for a $24 gift card, plus applicable sales tax.
