Theophylline in infants

"Because of lack of adequate studies, theophylline is not labeled for use in children younger than 6 months," reports the August issue of the FDA Drug Bulletin. "A recent survey of 62 newborn intensive care units showed, however, that aminophylline and theophylline are two of the more commonly used drugs."
