Santa Barney doll
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Lyons Group, Richardson, Texas, warn parents to remove pompons from Santa Barney doll hats because they pose a choking hazard.
Approximately 594,000 six-inch Barney dolls with red and white striped scarfs and red Santa hats were sold in retail stores nationwide last holiday season, packaged with videotapes as "Barney Holiday Gift Packs." The company received seven reports of pompons coming off hats and one report of a child choking on pompons. This year's Santa Barney doll does not have the pompon. For information, contact the Lyons Group at (800) 791-8093.
