Bath-ring drownings
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Chairman Ann Brown warns against leaving infants unattended in bath seats or rings, as these bathtub supports do not prevent drowning. Since 1989, CPSC has received 17 reports of drownings among children ages 5 months to 1 year who slipped out of bath seats and rings. Bathing infants require constant adult supervision and should always be kept within arm's reach, Brown stated.
FAB Color-Plus detergent
Colgate-Palmolive, New York, is recalling 25,000 containers of 50-ounce size FAB liquid Color-Plus laundry detergent because high levels of sodium hydroxide in the product might cause skin or eye irritation, or injury if ingested. Recalled containers are marked on the bottom center of the back panel, with a rectangular box containing an eight-digit number beginning with "4213."
