Wooden bunk beds
Three bunk bed manufacturers and importers are recalling more than 31,400 wooden bunk beds that could trap young children.
Openings on the top bunk can be large enough for a child's body to pass through, but small enough to entrap the child's head.
This recall follows recalls May 9 and Sept. 28, 1995, of a total of 361,000 wooden bunk beds. The earlier recalls were in response to the bed entrapment deaths of 26 children, reported to the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) from 1990 through 1995. Neither the CPSC nor the latest three manufacturers have received reports of deaths associated with their products.
