The American Academy of Pediatrics believes that all children deserve to grow up in a family that loves, nurtures and guides them toward a responsible, productive and healthy adult life. With this goal in mind, the Academy reiterates its long-standing commitment to the value of providing all children with an education that offers them knowledge and decision-making skills to apply to interpersonal relationships, as well as providing all children assistance in learning to make responsible decisions about sexual activity and the option of becoming a parent.
