The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.
Product: Playskool Team Talkin' Tool Bench
Units: 255,000
Manufacturer: Playskool, of Pawtucket, R.I.
Hazard: Toy nails can be lodged in a small child's throat, posing a choking hazard.
Incidents: Playskool received reports that a 19-month-old boy and a 2-year-old boy suffocated when oversized, plastic toy nails sold with the tool bench toys became lodged in their throats.
Description: The recalled tool bench includes an animated red toy saw, a yellow toy drill, a blue toy vice, toy hammer, screwdriver, two plastic screws, two plastic nails and pieces to build a toy plane.
Sold at: Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target, KB Toys stores and various other stores nationwide from October 2005 through September 2006 for $35.
Remedy: Take the toy nails away from children and contact Playskool to return the nails for a $50 certificate for a Playskool (or its related companies') product.
