The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.
Product: Toy keys with remote
Units: 275,000
Distributor: RC2 Brands Inc., of Oak Brook, Ill. The recalled products are marketed under RC2's Learning Curve and The First Years brands.
Hazard: The colored top portion of the keys can crack and release small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Description: Shake'n Jingle Keys, Shake & Jingle Keys, My Jingle Keys all by The First Years and John Deere Real Keys are toy keys in three colors attached to a blue, red or green sounding electronic remote. Only toy keys with the letter F in the date code stamp listed between date codes 2015F01 through 2636F04 are involved in the recall.
Sold at: Department stores and independent toy stores nationwide from August 2005 through October 2006 for $6.
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled toy keys and contact RC2 for a free replacement.
