The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.

Despite recalls and warnings, consumers continue to use products that could cause serious injury or death. The following items are especially hazardous to children:

  • old cribs that can entrap, strangle or suffocate children;

  • hood and neck drawstrings on kids' jackets and sweatshirts that can get caught and strangle children;

  • old window blinds with pull cords and inner cords that can form a loop and cause strangulation; and

  • disposable and novelty lighters—especially those that are not child-resistant.
