The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.
Product: Sam & Libby girl's thong sandals
Units: 6,700 pairs
Distributors: Nine West Footwear Corp., of White Plains, N.Y.
Hazard: The sandals' metal tacks, which help hold down the sides of the strap to the sole, can detach or be pulled out, posing a cut hazard.
Description: The recalled models have a fish, starfish or angelfish decoration attached to the sandals' straps. The sandals were sold in little girls' size 11 through girls' size 5.
Sold at: Stride Rite, Brothers, Century 21 and Marshalls stores nationwide from March through April 2006 for $12 to $20.
Remedy: Consumers should stop wearing these sandals and return them to the store where purchased for a refund.
