Mattel recalls millions of toys with lead, small magnets
Mattel Inc., of El Segundo, Calif., is recalling toys that may contain lead or have small magnets. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. If a child swallows more than one magnet, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage,which can be fatal.

Description: The recall involves Barbie and Tanner play sets with model numbers J9472 and J9560. Recalled scoopers have a silver-colored,disc-shaped magnet on the end. Scoopers with a white material covering the magnet and products manufactured after Jan. 31 are not recalled.
Sold at: Toy stores and other retailers nationwide from May 2006 to August 2007 for about $16.
