Mattel recalls millions of toys with lead, small magnets

Mattel Inc., of El Segundo, Calif., is recalling toys that may contain lead or have small magnets. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. If a child swallows more than one magnet, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage,which can be fatal.

Description: The Polly Pocket play sets contain plastic dolls and accessories with small magnets.

Sold at: Toy stores and other retailers from May 2003 through November 2006 for $15 to $30.
