The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.
The makers of Robitussin cough, cold and congestion products recalled Children's Dimetapp Cold & Chest Congestion medicine and several Robitussin cough, cold and congestion products because the medicines' dosage cups lack a half-teaspoon mark, the recommended dose for children ages 2 to 6 years.
This recall is specific to the dosage cup and is not related to the safety of the medication. Products included are Robitussin Chest Congestion,Robitussin Cough DM, Robitussin Cough Sugar Free DM, Children's Dimetapp Cold& Chest Congestion, Robitussin Cough & Cold CF and Robitussin Head& Chest Congestion PE.
Caregivers should not use these medicines in children ages 2 to under 6 because the dosage cups do not have a half-teaspoon mark. Discard these Robitussin medicines appropriately. The products were replaced on shelves in November with fully calibrated dosage cups.
