The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.

Product: Magnetic game pieces sold with “Cars” themed backpacks

Units: About 110,000

Importer: Global Design Concepts Inc., of New York

Hazard: Small magnets inside the four games pieces can fall out of their plastic enclosure and can be swallowed or aspirated by young children. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause potentially fatal intestinal perforation or blockage.

Description: The “Cars” backpack was sold with four game pieces that contain magnets and include red and blue plastic cars and red and black plastic disks with “GAS,” “OIL” and“SERVICE” printed on them.

Sold at: Target stores nationwide from February through September 2007 for about $13.

Remedy: Contact the Cars Backpack Recall hotline for instructions on returning the game pieces for a free replacement “Cars” wallet or another product.
